Are You Too Comfortable?

Leviticus 10:3 (NKJV)
3 And Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke, saying: 'By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.' " So Aaron held his peace.

We humans tend to adapt, in order to tolerate or become comfortable in the environment in which we live. This can be a good thing in regard to our physical environment such as weather conditions, but in regard to our spiritual environment, such as sin in this world, it is not a good thing.

Too often we allow ourselves to become comfortable with sin around us at times when we would be much better off if we would not allow it to happen. Have you become comfortable hearing someone say something you know is a lie, or if you learn that a friend has committed adultery? Or perhaps if not yet comfortable with sin you are more tolerable of it than you once were. I know this has been true in my life. What's worse is that I have at times been comfortable with my own sin.

We should always be aware of how Holy God is and meditate on how He regards sin in this world. God hates sin because He understands perfectly how it affects His children.

A old saying tells us, "In the middle of sIn is a big I!" When "I" become more important than what God's Word teaches, and what "I" think and want is more significant to me than the Word and Will of God, then "I" have lost my way and do not display the Love and Holiness of God nor do I demonstrate that I respect His Holiness.

Is today the day of repentance so we can turn back to God's plan for our lives?
