Dan'sDesktop

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God". (John 3:16-18 NKJV)

God sent His Son Jesus to the world to shed His Precious Blood (1 Peter 1:18-19) so that all sinners could be saved from eternal death and be given eternal life. Do you know a sinner when you see one?

Many folks think when they see a dirty, smelly, homeless person on the street or sleeping in a park that they are looking at a sinner. They may think that when they see a person on the street offering or selling their body to others to satisfy sexual appetites that they are looking at a sinner. They might think that when they see on the nightly news on television, a man who just robbed a convenience store and shot and killed the cashier in the process, that they are looking at a sinner. They might think that when they see a news report with a photograph of someone who planted a bomb in a bus station that exploded and killed hundreds of people that they are looking at a sinner. They may even think that when they see someone praying to, or worshipping a deity other than the God of Israel that they are looking at a sinner. In all those instances they would be correct. Everywhere you look, you will see sinners. They are found anywhere that you may be at any given time.

Here's something you may have never thought about. God loves all sinners. In fact, He loves them so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus the Christ, to this planet to be born a human man and live a totally sinless life. He did this not only to demonstrate that His Son alone is capable of existing as a man with no sin on His record; but more importantly, so that Jesus could shed His Precious blood at Calvary to pay the death penalty for all the sin of all mankind. He did this because of His love for all sinners everywhere, no matter what their sins may be, so that they can be with Him forever and always.

C.H. Spurgeon once wrote, "If you will select me the grossest specimen of humanity, if he be but born of woman, I will have hope of him yet, because Jesus Christ is come to seek and to save sinners."

Do you know a sinner when you see one? If you're not sure, just take a look in a mirror and you will see what a sinner looks like. We are not sinners because we sin. We sin because we are sinners.
